Dub Chapman owned the old Galey Hargis gas station in downtown Tahlequah.  Dub built the current store, just outside city limits, in the summer of 1978 because of city regulations on his tanks.  Dub purchased a motor home and traveled while his son in law, Larry Cone managed the store.  When he took a break from traveling he built the RV Park as a place he would like to stay.  In his words it was a simple, clean, basic park that is comfortable, safe, and quiet.  Through the years upgrades have been done, for example 80 trees have been planted (1995) and 30 spaces with 50 amp hook ups were added.  The park originally had a unique railroad tie bridge.  Larry would have to replace ties broken by the weight of vehicles driving over it.   The railroad tie bridge was there until 1998 when Dub built the current bridge.  The park was originally named the Indian Village RV park because Dub supported the Cherokee Heritage center and thought it was a unique attraction in the area.  The park was renamed when the Heritage Center was renamed.  The Cone's are still avid supporters of the Cherokee Heritage Center and Hunter's Home Museum and highly recommend them to visitors.  Larry and Vickie Cone purchased the store from Vickie's father, Dub in 1995.  Since that time the store has had numerous updates, but the personality you find is unique with a home-town feel.
